Use the Backup/Restore option

This tutorial will guide you how to use Backup/Restore option in OpenCart 2.x.

OpenCart 2.x. Using the Backup/Restore option

Opencart has Backup and Restore options in its admin panel. It allows you to back up and restore your site database from admin panel.

We recommend that you should back up your site regularly so that database is restored it if needed.

Backup

  1. Log into your Opencart admin panel.
  2. Open Tools > Backup / Restore page:Opencart._Using_the_Backup_Restore_option_1
  3. Select items in the table you want to back up.
  4. Click on the Backup button:Opencart._Using_the_Backup_Restore_option_2
  5. You will see the notice to download a backup file in format .sql. Save that file to your computer. It is needed in case you need to restore your site.

Restore

  1. Open the same Tools > Backup/Restore page in your Opencart backend.
  2. Browse your backup file under Restore Backup field.
  3. Click the Restore button at the top right corner:Opencart._Using_the_Backup_Restore_option_3
